Wide Variety of Classes
The Dance Center of Greensboro offers technique classes in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, Broadway tap & jazz, leaps & turns, hip-hop, tumbling/acrobatics, preschool classes, adult programs and children’s combination classes. We offer the highest quality of dance education by combining our standardized curriculums with our professional faculty. Our teaching methods work, our faculty have professional dance experience, and our students have gone onto professional companies
The Nutcracker Ballet & Competition Teams
The Dance Center of Greensboro offers a pre-professional program, for the more serious student, which provides additional performance opportunities. Being a member of DCG’s performance company requires additional technique classes plus numerous rehearsals, in a weeks time. These committed dancers gain performance experience participating in our annual nutcracker ballet, dance competitions, national ballet examinations, and several spring recital performances.
Classical Ballet Techniques Cecchetti (FCCA), ABT-NTC & Vaganova
The Dance Center of Greensboro’s ballet faculty come from professional ballet backgrounds including performances with The Royal Ballet, Boston Ballet, Royal New Zealand Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, New York City Ballet, Gateway Ballet, and more. Our ballet faculty has combined styles of Enrico Cecchetti, Aggripina Vaganova, George Balanchine, Robert Joffrey, Robert Barnett, Duncan Noble, Nina Danilova, Gyula Pandi and more. Tap & Jazz
The Dance Center of Greensboro’s tap & jazz faculty come from Broadway and National/International Broadway touring companies as well as commercial industrial & television experience. Our tap and jazz faculty combine styles of Luigi, Gus Giordano, Henry Le Tang, Danny Hoctor, Bob Fosse, Charles “Chuck” Kelley, Crystal Chapman, Tommy Tune, Joe Tremaine, Brian Foley, Chet Walker, and more. Tumbling/Hip Hop
The Dance Center of Greensboro’s tumbling/acrobatic-arts faculty come from the renowned Anti Gravity Company (NYC, Las Vegas) and national tumble and cheer teams. Our tumbling program includes elements of gymnastics, acrobatics, and cheer. Our tumbling teachers are certified with Acrobatic Arts and Dance Masters of America and have trained with top notch coaches such as Bela Karolyi, Hector Salazar, Kristie Phillips, Christopher Harrison, Andrew Pacho and more. Contemporary/Master Classes
The Dance Center of Greensboro hosts master teachers and guest choreographers frequently. Our guest artists offer classes and choreography in classical ballet, Broadway jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and tumbling. Several of our guests are in the midst of their professional dance careers currently and love working with the students at The Dance Center of Greensboro. It’s an honor to host these working professionals that offer our students professional advice and encouragement.
